1 Man and a Window, and the Hunter Puzzle

Rating: PG
Quality: (Quality: Unrated)

There was once a man who stood looking through the window on the 7th floor of a building. He was suddenly overcome with an impulse, opened the window, and lept through. It was a sheer drop from the outside of the window to the ground. He did not have any special equipment, and did not land on any special substance (like a bush or water). He was not specially trained in any way. And yey he survived with nothing more than a sore elbow. How is this possible?

Answer: The man was a window washer standing on a platform on the outside of a building. He lept into the building, not out of it.

There was once a hunter who set out from his camp and traveled 1 mile due North, where he saw a bear. He then followed the bear one mile due West, where he shot the bear. He then dragged the bear 1 mile due South back to his camp. What color was the bear? (This may seem like an irrelevant question, but you will kick yourself at the answer...)
