I am less that I want to be, I wonder what's escaping me. I hear what I'm too blind to see, I see only things that are in front of me. I pretend that things are what they seem, I feel the fear arise in me. I touch but scared of breaking things, I worry what I'll never be. I cry when I disappoint those who believed in me, I am what no one wants to be. I understand but never do, I say, I feel, I want made new. I dream of days that won't be soon, I hope these words, they cut right through. I am, it seems, just born to lose.
