DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE
Near the door he paused to stand
As he took his class ring off her hand
All who were watching did not speak
As a silent tear ran down his cheek
And through his mind ran the moments
They walked and ran in the sand.
But now her eyes were so terribly cold
He would never again have her to hold.
They all watched in silence as he bent near
And whispered the words “I love you” in her ear.
He touched her face and started to cry
As he put on his class ring and wanted to die
The cold wind began to blow
As they lowered her casket into the snow
This is what happens when friends drink and drive
For if they didn’t she may still be alive.

NEVER
Never say I love you if you really don’t care.
Never talk about feelings of they really aren’t there.
Never hold my hand if you’re going to break my heart.
Never say you’re going to if you don’t plan to start.
Never look into my eyes of all you do is lie.
Never say hello if you really mean goodbye.
If you really mean forever then say you’ll really try.
Never say forever because forever makes me cry.

SOMEBODY SHOULD HAVE TOLD HIM
I went to a party, but I remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink and drive,
So I had a Sprite instead.
I felt proud of myself, the way you I would.
That I did not choose to drink and drive,
Though some friends said I should,
I knew I made a healthy choice, and your advice to me was right.
As the party finally ended and kids drove out of sight,
I got into my car sure to make it home in one piece,
Never knowing what was coming, something I expected at the least.
Now I’m lying on the pavement and I can hear the policeman say,
“The kid that caused this accident’s drunk.”
His voice seemed so far away.
My blood is all around me as I try hard not to cry.
I can hear the paramedics say,
“This girl is going to die.”
I’m sure that guy had no idea as he was flying high,
Because he chose to drink and drive that I wouldn’t have to die.
So why do people do it, if they know it ruins lives?
But now the pain is cutting me like 100 stabbing knives.
Tell my sister not to be afraid and daddy to be brave,
And when I go to heaven to put “Daddy’s Girl” on my grave.
Someone should have taught him that it’s wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had, I’d still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter; I’m getting really scared,
These are my final moments, and I’m so unprepared.
I wish that you could hold me, mom, as I lie here and die.
I wish that I could say I love you, and Good-bye.

MISTY
My name is Misty, I am but three,
My eyes are swollen, I cannot see.
I must be stupid, I must be bad.
What else could make my daddy so mad?
I wish I were pretty, I wish I weren’t ugly.
Then maybe my mommy would still want to hug me.
I can’t speak at all, I can’t do anything wrong,
Or else I am locked up all night long.
When I awake, I am all alone.
My folks aren’t home.
When my mommy is I try to be nice,
So maybe I’ll get only one whipping tonight.
Don’t make a sound, I hear a car,
My daddy is back from Charlie’s Bar.
I hear him curse, my name he calls.
I press myself against the wall.
I try and hide from his evil eyes.
I am so afraid I am starting to cry.
He finds me weeping, he shouts ugly words.
He says it’s my fault he suffers at work.
He slaps me, hits me, and yells at me more.
I finally get free and run to the door.
He’s already locked it, and I start to bawl.
He takes me and throws me against the hard wall.
I fall to the floor with my bones nearly broken,
And my daddy continues with more bad words spoken.
“I’m sorry” I scream, but it’s much too late,
His face has been twisted with unimaginable hate,
The hurt and the pain again and again.
Oh please God have mercy, oh please let it end.
He finally stops and heads for the door,
While I lie motionless, sprawled on the floor.
My name was Misty, I was but three,
The night my daddy murdered me.

?????
I thought I loved you, yes it’s true
But then you broke my heart in two.
I was always waiting and waiting
But you were always out and dating.
I couldn’t help myself, although I tried
I mainly sat around and sighed
Never before have I felt this way
I want to tell you, but what do I say?
I guess I’ll ignore what I feel
Somehow I’ll have to try and deal
I just have one more thing to say
I hope you realize what you missed someday.

JUST DON’T DO IT
I can’t believe it
It happened so fast
Who knew that one ride
Would be their last
They left the party
All hyped up
Then they all rode off
In the truck
He hit the gas
She started to dance
They had been drinking
Would they get another chance?
The radio was loud
The driver going so quick
He made a sharp cut and
The truck started to flip
He looked at the others
As a tear rolled down his face
He said he was sorry
He was full of disgrace
They took their last breath
Then the truck crashed bottom
No one survived
But they will never be forgotten
This happens all the time
People drink and drive
This is to the lucky ones
That happened to survive.
Before you take off
Remember what is said
If you drink and drive
You or someone might end up dead.

DIE FOR LOVE
I sit in the park where I dwell
For this boy I love so well
He took my heart away from me
And now he wants to set me free
I see a girl upon his lap
He things to her he never said to me
I ran home to cry on my bed
Not a word to mother was said
Father came home late that night
He looked at me from left to right
He saw me hanging from a rope
He took a knife and cut me down
And on my dress a note was found
“Dig my grave, dig it deep,
Dig my grave from head to feet
And on the top place a dove
And remember this,
I died for love.

A MOONLIGHT RIDE
Excited she got ready for the big event. But she rushed around like she had no sense. She began to feel bad about all the lies, but what's a pizza party and a moonlight ride? Well, the pizza was good and the party was great, but a moonlight ride would just have to wait. Jeff was drunk by this time, but he kissed her and said he was fine. Then the room got filled with smoke, as Jeff took a puff. Jenny couldn't believe he wsa smoking that stuff. Now Jeff was ready to the point but, only after he had one more joint. They jumped in the car for a moonlight ride, not thinking that Jeff was to drunk to drive. They finally made it to the point at last, as Jeff was trying to make a pass. A pass was not what Jenny wanted at all. Her parents were right...I am too young to date...How could I ever...have been so dumb. With all her might she pushed Jeff away. "Please take me home I don't want to stay." Jeff cranked up the engine, and floored the gas, in a matter of seconds, they were going to fast. As Jeff drove on, in a fit of anger, Jenny knew her life was in danger. She begged and pleaded for him to slow down, but he just got faster as they neared town. "Just let me get home, I'll confess that I lied. I really went out for a moonlight ride." Then all of the sudden, she saw a big flash "Oh my God, please hep us, we're going to crash." She doesn't remember the force of the impact, just all of the sudden everything went black. She felt someone move her from the twisted rubble, and she heard someone say, "Get help These kids are in trouble" Voices she heard... a few words at best, but she knew there were two cars involved in the wreck. She wondered to herself if Jeff was alright and the people in the other car were alive. She woke in the hospital to faces so sad. "You've been in an accident and it looks pretty bad." These voices echoed in her head. As they gently told her that Jeff was dead. They said, "Jenny, we've done all we can do, but it looks like we are losing you too." "But what about the people in the other car," Jenny cried. "We're sorry Jenny but they've also died." Jenny prayed, "God forgive me for what i have done. I only wanted one night of fun. Tell the people's parents, families, and friends, I've made their lives dim, and I wish I could return their families to them." "Tell my mom and dad I'm sorry I lied, and that it's my fault so many have died. Nurse, won't you please tell them for me?" The nurse just stood there and never agreed. But she took Jenny's hand with tears in her eyes, and moments later...Jenny died. A man asked the nurse, "Why didn't you do your best to bid the girl's one last request?" She looked at the man with tears in her eyes, "Because the people in the other car were her mom and dad sir." This story is sad and unpleasantly true, so young people take heed, it could have been you.
