Today was supposed to be a special day
but something happened to me
I did not listen to my mom
I just ran across the street
I did not see the truck coming
but he was driving way too fast
I wish i would have listened to mommy
but the truck just seemed to pass
as I lay here on the pavement
and look up at my mom and dad
I wish i could have listened to her
I hope she is not mad
I see this tear crawl down her cheek
i reach to touch her face
to let her know that im okay
but my hand just stays in place
I understand what has happened
i know why mommys so sad
its because i did not live
so i guess she wont be mad
I wish i listened to mommy
Im only 5 years old
theres so much more i had to live
my life still to unfold
But now they lay me down to sleep
forever shall i lay
But all i wish for, all i need
is for my mommy to know im ok
let daddy know i love him
tell him its okay
he still has krissy, to walk down the aisle
on that very special day
let krissy know i love her
and im sorry shes alone
she will find a new friend
and can play on her own
If only that man knew
the pain that he has caused
he hasnt hurt just one person
but he has hurt us all
I am permantly 5 years old
on my way to first grade
you should have just drove slow sir
cuz all the trouble you made
I should have listened to you mommy
when you told me to walk with you
but now im with the angels
and im waiting paciently for you
Kaylee, my older sister, was hit by a speeding car when I was 3. this is a reminder to everyone out there in a hurry to get somewhere to slow down. Imagine living life knowing that you are the reason a little girl is not going to grow up, get married, have kids. that because of you all her dreams and plans are destroyed. life is precious, take every minute you have and treasure it.
