the story of adam and eve was meant to show that all humans have original sin, which is the ability for humans to think they don't need God in their lives, which they do. Adam and Eve ate the fruit off the tree to try to be like God, and they thought if they were like God, then they wouldn't need Him, which is untrue. God saw this, and people were punished for it, and thats why when we are born, we have original sin. Baptisim is to help us not to commit original sin. Adam and Eve was meant to show that, and is not to be taken as a literal translation. Theres alot of that. For instance, when God said "Let there be light" that could be a metaphor for the big bang. who knows? but yeah, we're not all cousins. now, this is what a Priest told me, or what I could remember. I may or may not be correct, so I suggest that if it's really bothering you, to go to a Priest or Rabbi, and talk to them about it, because God knows I'm no expert. (no pun intended)
