1 My Best Buddy
Rating:
Quality: (Quality: Unrated)
My name is Brittany. I am 14 years old and 4 days ago- Thursday, July 31, 2003, my best buddy died. His name was Ed Taylor and he was 55 years old. It was just 3 days after his birthday. I love him. I couldn't believe it when my Marching Band practice was interrupted by a friend who was crying. All she could say over and over was, "Ed had a heart attck They couldn't save him I'm so sorry" I can safely say that at that moment, I knew what it was like to have your entire world fall apart around you. I ran to the phone and tried to call my mom who worked with Ed. I got the answering machine, which I screamed into. Then I kicked a wall. I still have the bruises. I can't believe that he is gone. I loved him so much. He was like a second father to me.
I am writing this to all of you out there who have just lost a loved one. I know the pain and confusion you are going through because I am going through it right now. You need to remember that your loved one is in a better place. They are happy now and no longer in pain. God is taking care of them, so you don't have to worry. You will survive this. I know it is hard to imagine ever feeling better again, but you will. Do it for your loved one. They wouldn't want you to be miserable, they would want you to live and be happy. Live everyday, if not for you,do it for the memory of your loved one. The only thing you can do for them now is to take care of yourself and others who are grieving around you. Live everyday for them. That's what I'm going to do. PLay hard for them, compete to win for them. I'm going to do that for the rest of my Marching Band career. I hope that this helps you. If I have in anyway made you feel better, please e-mail me to let me know. I am doing this for my Best Buddy. This is a terrible time in my life, and I am trying to make some good come out of it. I know that is what he would have wanted.
Good Luck To You
Love Always,
Britt
