i need to speak with you
you see ive done this awful thing
to make myself look cool
i skipped church wendesday
to go out with my friends
i lied to my mother
so i could meet ends
i told her i was going to the movies
with some of my girl friends
not that i was going to a loud party with drugs
lotsa guys that act like thugs
but i was a good girl
i turned down the pot
the alcohol and the speed
when i was put on the spot
Sunday i didnt come to church
so i could go out with my guy
my curfew was ten but I got home later
I snuck in and thought i was real sly
but mom knew
at least i think she did
still when she asked if i got in late
i told yet another fib
I felt real guilty
lying to my mom and not coming to worship u
i said there will be other days
and thought will i skip those too?
Today my pastor said
and made me realize
that we never know
if we'll live another day of our lives
so please comew into my life
and live deep within my heart
stay with me forever
so we'll never be apart
