coming from a guy's point of view, i feel sorry for you both i myself havent been in that situation but i know some-one that has and i can say when he said he loved you and all that sort of stuff i think that he more than likely did. you having four kids may have scared him. some guys freak with that kind of thing. you wanted to know if you should call it quits and leave him to his family??? well mate i cant help you i'd like to say yes but would that hurt you more than not having him at all?? hope it works itself out but in years to come you may find yourself with him..if you are truely soulmates.. take care good luck keep us posted on what happens..
