A day in May [part 1]

Kenny opened his  eyes. Light had flooded the small bedroom. He  wiped  the sleep from his eyes as he rose from the bed and walked over  to the mirror. His crimson hair was a mess. His eyes didnt want to open but he tried anyway. His blue eyes reflected upon him. He was still half asleep. He changed into his usual clothes. jeans  and a brown t-shirt. He went into the bathroom next to his small bedroom. He  brushed his teeth and did his hair. He walked back into the small  room and made the bed. He had just finished putting on the last pillow when he heard a familiar voice.
"cleaning are we?" said Lei. Kenny turned around and saw Lei at the door.
"May i enter?" she said.
"of corse," Kenny replied. Lei walked over to kenny and gave him a big hug. He could smell her long blonde hair. It smelt like nothing he knew. It was so sweet. Lei let go of Kenny and looked at him. Kenny looked back. She had green eyes. They were so beautiful. Kenny could have gotten lost in them. Her long londe hair was out today. The way Kenny liked it best. Her skin seemed to glow a little more than usual today. She was wearing a pink top and her jeans. She had a big smile spread right across her face. Kenny realised she was happier than usual.
"what are you all happy about?" asked Kenny
"why carnt i be happy to see you?" she replied. Her smile was still getting bigger.
"hmm...your keeping something from me, i can tell," Kenny said.
her smile got to the biggest it could go.
"well...i do have a little something..." she said.
"oh..what? is it good or bad?" asked Kenny, though he knew it was going to be good from the huge smile on Lei's face.
"it can be eitha good or bad whichever way you choose to take it" Lei said, "you are going to be a father."
Kenny froze for a  second. In his head millions of images falshed through his mind. He would be responsible for a living thing. then he realsied Lei was staring up at him smiling. He knew he would have to say something but he had yet decided  weather it was a good or bad thing.
"are you sure?" he asked Lei.
"yes i have just come from Dr. Rynn, she said that it'll be born in May, next year" she said happily.
"...that means you have been pregnant for...3 months already." he said shocked.
"i know i didnt realise, i always eat weird things and have cravings so i thought it was  normal, but last night i really wanted bananas. you know how i HATE bananas, so i thought i sould get checked out." she said still smiling.
"well...i am going to be a father" Kenny said smiling.

Lei's parents had never been to happy with Kenny. they had always thought he was...grubby. Lei and Kenny arrived at Mr and Mrs Trinity's house at 11 am that morning. they walked up the path way. it was lined  with hedges and flowers. the walked up to the huge oak  doors. Lei knocked on the door. a man in a tux answered. He looked over his nose at Lei and kenny. He said snobbily
"mmm...greetings Miss Trinity..." he said "Kenny" he said slightly nodding his head once and gave an 'oh god here we go' kind of look.
"is mummy or daddy home Burnard?" asked Lei politley
"right this way please," said bernard as he truned on his heel and walked through the hall. 

"Mummy" cried Lei and ran across the yard to Mrs. Trinity.
"darling..well...what are you doing here?" she asked quite shocked to see her 26 year old daughter so happy.
"mummy...I am...Kenny and I are going to be parents. said Lei in the same excited  voice  she used that morning.
Mrs. Trinity dropped her wine glass.
"w..what?" she said confused. "parents?" she questioned.
"yes mummy"
"i am going to be a grandmother" cried Mrs. Trinity. she started wailing and repeating 'a grandmother'. then she turned  around and shot at Kenny...
"THIS IS YOUR FAULT" she charged at kenny. Kenny immediatly turned and started to run.
"mummy...mummy...MOTHER STOP" cried lei as Mrs. trinity chased Kenny around the garden.
"Mother" Lei said  almost in tears, " carnt you think about some one other than yourself for once c'mon kenny"
Lei turned and walked out of the yard.

"hunny?" asked Kenny after 15  minutes of silence in the car.
"darling...you love me dont you?" asked  Lei in tears.
"yes i love you with all my heart" Lei moved over and kissed Kenny
"hunny, hunny, hunny watch the road" yelled Kenny.
their black car had smashed right into the back of a  truck. a truck that was full of flammable substance, kenny didnt catch the name before they ran into the back of it. the last thing he remebered was Lei's face. Glass had broken on it...then he remebered....THE BABY...
