I hate people saying they like the british accent - which one there's many different ones. There's London accent and you might hear them from Eastenders (which is certainly not posh) people from the midlands around Brimingham speak brummie and thats such a cool accent, there's the accent from liverpool which is also a distinctive one. i tell you something, I have never heard anyone speak english the british way like it is portrayed on movies. Nobody hardly goes private schools and elocution to talk so proper. There are more lower class people than the rich people who are supposed to live in the fake London in these movies.
Take the new film Love Actually for instance where in London is it supposed to be? Wheres the real London in this film? It should have drugs, crime, people who hate their own Queen (who don't speak like her). The rough end of London hahaha I tell you nobody has any idea of an english person do they, not even a movie writer who is so far up Hugh Grant's arse - your word ass.
I mean from every country Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England itself there are regional variations. Every city speaks different, there are rarely these posh people with huge houses and posh voices anywhere. Nobody can understand our cup of tea, crumpet culture can they? We are mainly normal people and whoever tries to stereotype us will often make this HUGE mistake of making us sound so pathetic in the way we talk.
Enough of this whole thing. If you really want to hear british people get on a plane, go to different cities here and find out for yourself who we really are. As for me the kettle has boiled so im going to use my teapot (whatever one of those is) and cups and saucers - I mean mugs? With a biscuit - chocolate chip cookie.
