1 All because its mainstream...

I can't believe you would drop your fave band just because they get recognised for their talent. whoever does this is just shallow and scared that if they continue to like the band after charting will not be considered true punk. you are pathetic. people in the uk who were proper punks in the 70s to early 80s were supporting chart bands who were most definitely punk.
i don't understand why people do that by stopping liking a good band. its the same as people who stop liking a band because they lose their cool status. grow up ppl if you like music and its underground then it goes mainstream it should not matter because they have achieved what they set out to do, write music, perform and gain a stable fan base. if you are not prepared to stay true to your fave bands then what does it show? I mean you are all saying you are proper punk and are quick to call some band poser. What are you going to turn around and throw out all your CDs because you think that the band has become mainstream and are now POSERS. the only difference is that the band is making lots of money for being passionate about their songwriting. get a life sad sad ppl who thnk they would look cooler if they only liked underground. The cooler ones don't moan about what category the music is in, they like it for what it is.
i pasted this from my previous post:
Just because it becomes chart music does not mean it should lose the respect the band's hard work made them achieve. Yes the band may be secret for years before they got off the ground and now they are in the chart but stop to think. They are NEVER too cool to listen to because a person who values music for what it is - and it makes them feel good - should not care what someone's OPINION labels and CATEGORISES it as.
AND FINALLY
please think about what i said, enjoy music, you make it sound like it is a bad thing to listen to good music.
