Lord knows how many names He has. But why He? The answer to the much debated what sex is God is simply answered by stating that God has no sex. Kind of strange to imagine that. But God has no need for a sex, male or female. God created those difference sexes for sexual reproduction. God probably got the pronoun 'He' because of the male dominated society that wrote the Bible. Don't get me wrong, God was no sexist, no religion has done more for equality through the sexes than Christianity. The passages may be hard to interpret, but if you look at them, in the context of the passage, they show a definite, equal respect for men and women. There are different roles, yes, but that does not mean different values of those roles. Another possibility for God to be deemed by humans as 'He' is because marriage is often compared with the relationship with Christ, shown as the groom, with the Church, shown as the bride(this is in no way a sexual relationship, but in terms of closeness, and support).

What is God? Is He (sorry, but to avoid confusion I'll call God He, refer above) a spirit? A man? What the HECK is up with the Trinity? God is hard to define, because we define him(sorry)in terms that describe physical things. I DO NOT mean to say that by nonphysical, I mean imaginary, but he is not matter or energy, because he cannot be something that he created, law of contradictions and all. But like matter and energy, he surpasses all of the dimensions, because he designed those to keep order in the universe. Because of that, he surpasses anything measurable, and he surpasses time, so by trying to grasp that concept, the three-in-one concept of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, can be kinda explained. Not as well as I would like, but that is the explanation of what God is.

How many God's are there? In the Christian religion, only one. Because God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient, if there was another God, that God would be exactly as all-knowing, exactly as powerful, and would be everywhere that the other God would be, in other words, another one would be unnecesary. Because all-power, presence, and knowledge is complete, all possible gods, would still be God, no more, no less.
