Graduation Speech- A time for Goodbye
Rating: PG-13
Quality: (Quality: Unrated)
Hello, fellow classmates, facualty, and family.
Welcome to this wonderful and special day of our proceeding in life. My name is Gracie Miller, and I am your valedictorian this year. For the people that know me, know that I haven't always been a good student. My freshman year, 1st semester, I passed 2 classes with D's (Foods and Keyboarding), and all my others, in the 40 percentile. I wanted to try everything my freshman year, Smoking, Skipping, Drinking, Driving, Drinking AND Driving, sex, sneaking out at night, not coming home until 5 a.m., and even getting in trouble with the police. My parents have always been over achievers and pushed me to do well, when I got into hishschool, I decided to run free, I'm not in grade school anymore, there arent people watching me 24/7 I said, and let loose. Imagine how upset my parents were that year, theyre other 3 children, had been straight A pluses there whole entire life, never had a drink or a smoke til they were of legal age. They thought I would never be back to my old 12 year old self, then one Saturday of my sophomore year I had a horrible hangover, and slept all day. My mom woke me up and told me she had something to tell me, my best friend and boyfriend never came home last night, they were in a car accident and both were hurt very badly, and didnt make it through. Imagine the pain going through my heart, For exactly 27 days I didn't know what to do, so I cried, constantly, people said I even cried in my sleep. Exactly 98 days after that, my mother and father died in a car crash. At that very moment, I decided I am going to turn around, I wanted people to tell me, your parents would be so proud of you. And they are. So as we leave this school, and take our very last walk through these doors at GCMS, remember no matter how horrible you are, how dumb you are, you can do it. There is always someone cares, and if not, I'll Care, just give me a call So as we all go in our seperate ways, We'll remember each other and the good and abd times we had in high school. Thank you. Congratulations Class of 2000, WE DID IT
