You are the exact reason why so many people hate rap. If you like rap thats fine. But at least be intelligent about it. Oh my God, I'm so lame. I'm smart and I don't sound like a complete idiot trying to show out with my typing accent. Good Lord, no wonder rap and hip-hop music/culture have such a negative stereotype. I love rap, but I must agree with some of these "haters"; much "rap" today is mostly bullshit. Just because someone is a rapper and you like rap doesn't make them automatically right and perfect. Speak intelligently.
In addition to rap, I also love my old neighborhood (I grew up in a crummy neighborhood in East Atlanta), but I also take pride in the fact that I am a strong, educated young female. I am not anyones "hoe" or bitch.
About the "hood": Yes, there are drive-bys. Yes, there are dog fights. Yes, there are crackhouses, crackheads, and every other kind of bad thing there is. However, if you had a mind worth shit, you would understand that THIS IS NOT SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF. That is something that deeply disturbed me about your post. There is nothing wrong with getting rich and being proud that you're not in the projects on some government handout. And as a former welfare recipient, I can tell you that there is absolutely nothing wrong with making money and standing on your own. Or being "middle class".
Another thing is the word "nigga". To use the word "nigga" as a term of endearment is a complete disgrace and shame to Black people, and to hip-hop. I find it extremely repulsive that trashy rappers and their brainwashed fans/followers toss this term around like its no big deal.
So if you'd like to defend hip-hop or rap, come do it when you go back to kindergarten and learn the basics of how to talk.
