1 America vs Canada

I think that everyone who isn't Canadian, or American, or just doesn't have a huge problem with people expressing their opinions about others countries, is SO sick of people trying to make their country sound better. Let's face it, an opinion is an opinion. And everyone who posts on this site is very 'opinionated', and everyone who isn't involved is very aware to the blatantly obvious, that the argument will never end. So why must so many people try and make themselves feel better by putting down the other country.
Each country has pros and cons. Canada is more 'peaceful' and probably a bit more humble. I used to think Canada was very polite, but after reading what Canadians write on this site, some of the things are brutal. But, sorry if I offend any canadians, Canada does give off a sense of unimportancy. I'm not sure if that is actually a word, but i think you understand the meaning. The fact that Canada doesn't do anything bad is a great thing. But on a similar note, to my knowledge, they havent done a lot to 'better' the world. I know, America definitely does do a lot of questionable things, but they have also done a lot of great things to better the world. I don't know whether having an equal balance of good and bad, or not having a significant amount of either is better. And my next subject, George W. Bush. I know everybody says he is an idiot. Although he did make the official decision to start a war, it was intelligence by many different agencies that caused him to do so. I dont know what people think: Having a country still in the tirany and oppression of a dictator, or having a foreign country come in and take the dictator out of power, but also killing many people in the process. Also, it is not fair or just to judge a whole group or people based on a few people within that group. Just because you may have met a few rude americans, or dislike the president, doesn't mean that the entire group of people is that way. I know after september 11th, a girl(who is not american, she is south african), told me "i hate muslims". I would never ever say that or believe that, because i am not so blind to judge a whole group of people based on the acts of a few people. And the fact that some people compare September 11th, to things america has done, is absolutely appalling. I am an American, and although i do not hate, infact i even like, Canada, i could not believe what people said. The day of september 11th, walking into a classroom, and seeing buildings burning and crashing, and realizing it's not just another hollywood movie, is so terrible. You realize that there were thousands of people inside those buildings, and hundreds of firemen and policemen trying to save their lives, and they died in the process. Then you think about all the people on the planes, knowing that they knew they were going to die, and that it's over for them, and reading that there was several children under the age of five on those planes, their parents having to watch and see that not only will they lose their lives, but they will have to die knowing their child is dying as well. Then that same night, you turn on the tv, and you see people celebrating at your suffering, and burning american flags. Then, later, people tell you that you are just as bad as those people on the planes. I will never tolerate that, and sorry to kind of lose my neutral stance, that is just so hurtful. It's the same as if you are telling us that we deserved it. Try telling the 4 daughters under the age of 10, that they deserved to have their father die, just because they are american.
I know i probably seem like a hypocrite for saying its stupid to fight, and then retaliate against a few hurtful people, but although i firmly believe what i said, I also believe that we should fight about which country is better, because that is all opinion. And nobody like to have their opinions questioned, so why should we do it, when we know we will just get it thrown right back at us.
