4 All those at a school with BATON TWIRLERS!

I know that over 1/2 of this Sports section is plauged with all that crud about whether or not cheeleading is a sport, and all those who couldn't care less are getting a bit agitated with it. But I've just got to add in my 2 cents. Baton twirling. I'm one of three girls on my high school's majorette line, the 1st in 30 years. It was a long and hard fight to get us there, but we made it. But no one seems to give us any respect. They say we're skanks because of our uniforms, which are tight and sequined leotards. Well, thats what all majorette lines wear, just look at any college twirlers. They say we're untalented, that they could do it too, and its no big deal, so why should we get any special attention, and its not even a real sport. Well, do you think that Sports Illustrated knows anything about sports? Yeah? Oh, so thats why they named baton twirling the HARDEST WOMEN'S SPORT IN THE WORLD over 5 years in a row? Yeah, thought so. It takes years of practice and study. Out of the whole group, the girl that has been twirling the shortest amount of time is our captain, who has only been twirling 5 years. And she practices on her own every day, plus our tough practices 4 days a week, plus a football game almost every friday or a basketball game 2 or 3 times a week. Just a simple wrist twirl, something we can do with out even thinking about, takes many people over 2 months to masterit, even more to do it well. I want to challenge all of you to find a twirler and ask them to show you a wrist twirl or finger twirls. You'll see, its a heck of a lot harder then you may think.

Note: I actully used real English instead of all that crud and slang and shortcuts and typos everyone else on this site uses.
