Me and a girl were enemies in elementary school, from kindergarten until grade 7. Everybody knew we hated eachother, it was like a war. As we got older, we stopped hating eachother so much and it just became a competition. A competition for everything, friends, clothes, money, boys... ANYTHING. The we became closer and not so hostile. And as soon as we knew it we were best friends, closer than you can even imagine. We did everything together, and instead of competing about everything, we shared everything, clothes, money, friends... Hormones went crazy in high school and we kinda drifted apart.. she got a boyfriend first, and of course i was jealous. I tried to go out with his best friend so it was like the 2 best friends with the 2 best friends.. but it didnt exactly work out. I met a guy who wasnt really close friends with them and started out with him, spending almost all of my time with him, so me and her werent spending as much time with eachother. As time went on we grew farther and farther apart, fighting all the time. She broke up with her boyfriend so she had a lot of time on her hands.. i was there for her during that, but she wouldn't let me spend the time i wanted to with my bf...She told me it was my him who did it, who distanced us... but it was her. She was getting into too many things that i didnt want to be involved with. She started hanging out with the popular group in the school, i had the choice, but i didnt want it. So i stayed with him. She started changning and i was no longer a big part of her life, so i shut her out too. Then she started choosing the other girls over me.. even when she knew she shouldnt have. They started talking sht about me and she went along with it, then became the ringleader. She would call me and harass me about everything, about how dirty my boyfriend was and that i was a slu+ and a wh0re. All because she heard a rumor about me when i was at a party. We dont talk anymore, shes not there for me anymore, she doesnt think about me anymore.. all because she didnt want to lose those people as friends. And i wasn't strong enough to keep her close to me.
It hurts, it hurts more than you could think. 11 years of my life... i spent 85 of it on her. I feel like i have wasted so much of myself on that. But i shouldnt, i tell myself that everyday. So i guess the moral of all his is to not let go, never let go of what you have with someone for a stupid reason. Especially if you have gone through your whole life with them. It cuts you up inside and it will eat at you for the rest of your life. I regret it more than anything.
