My best friend in the whole world was Amber Carson. She lived with me off and on during the whole 11 years we were best friends. She was my real sister. I say that because I always talked to her, not my real sisters. They were just people who lived in the same house as me. The last weekend of her life was homecoming weekend. She went with her boyfriend and I went with mine. A picture was taken of us four. The day after homecoming she gave me copy of the picture, but only the half with my boyfriend and I were in it. The next day, a Monday, there was a fog delay. I was home with my boyfriend and two close friends. We were on the internet. I was talking to her about homecoming. She told me that she needed to get going and she said, "I love you sis!" I said it back. A half and hour later I received the phone call saying Amber had been in an accident and didn't make it. My whole world came down on me and I couldn't believe it. It could have been worse, had I not told her I loved her before she passed away. Imagine if our last words had been of hate! I would feel so bad! Later that day Amber's real dad, not my dad whom she also called dad, brought me the full picture from homecoming. I look at that picture every night and know that Amber loves me and I love her. Three simple words, "I love you," changed my life. So remember, when you are talking to someone, realize that that may be the last time you ever talk to them and what a difference the words "I love you" can make. I LOVE YOU AMBER!
