1 1 1 1 1 Cheerleading (vs.) Gymnastics, What the ..
Rating: PG-13

Ok.. for all you immature little kids out there who are arguing about which one is "better" and which one takes more ability.. first of all, shut up. I was in both cheerleading and gymnastics, and both are equally as hard. And for both of these, I'm only looking at it from competition perspective (not the steriotypical football or basketball rah-rah crap cheerleaders have to go through to compete).
In cheerleading, you compete as a team, which is a lot harder and more stressful than competing as an individual since you have no control over what the other people are doing, you just have to have faith in them. In gymnastics however, you have four different events that you have to compete instead of one, which makes it likewise as hard. One forward claimed that the hardest part of cheerleading was the gymnastics part, but really it's not.. It's the stunting, and that takes some mad skill since you have to work with other people, and not just your own body as you do tumbling. Plus in cheerleading, when you tumble, you not only have to get your body in sync with the music, but also with up to twenty different girls that you tumble with at the same time. That can become very difficult when you try and get that many standing fulls or whatever skill you want perfectly coordinated. Though gymnastics is in the Olympics and cheerleading isn't, doesn't make it any more of a "real sport." It's just different. Cheerleading is like gymnastics and dance, but isn't a "retarded form" of it either. If anything, cheerleading is just them combined into a team sport with stunting added, judged on how everything flows together and hits on time.
The arguments between cheerleading and gymnastics (and even cheerleading and dance) are just stupid as they're all different stports.. just leave it at that. It's like saying basketball isn't a sport because baseball was invented first and basketball just copied the "ball" idea. So stop arguing about it and just see it as how it really is, got it? If you have any complains, take it up with Likki. I'm out.. peace.
