1 - a word of advice....listen (punk/prep)

Quality: (Quality: Unrated)
I remember coming on this site a while ago and seeing many interesting forwards among other pointless things. But now all i see is really stupid arguments about punks and preps
Does anyone here know what a punk is?
I thought a punk was someone who didnt give a sh_t, the term is thrown around way too loosely these days. I think stereotypes are over played by this generation, but if its completely necessary and you need to justify the way you are (even though you dont need to) then carry on your stereotypes but please get them right. I've been reading alot of these forwards and im under the impression that people wearing skater clothes are calling themselves punks, am i right? The stereotype of a punk has been broadcasted by the media as the style of mohicans and tight trousers with converse style shoes etc. I mean the idols that have been known for creating punk such as the Sex Pistols are far from the idea of punk today, i mean would any of you people writing these forwards carve 'give me a fix' into your chests to make a statement or draw a Swastika on your fore head to p_ss people off?
Im laughing at half these forwards because they are either full of exaggerations or straight up lies. I know these stereotypes are all over the world, im from England and things are the same (although far from as bad as that 'english rocker' explained) but you're all contradicting yourselves. You 'alternative' people are slagging off the 'trendy' people for slagging you....you really are missing the point here, arent you? The groups of people who you Americans call 'preps' are definitly not always the problem, sure ive been in a fair few arguments with people who dress that way but many with who you call 'punks' and well im, resentfully, stereotyped as being part of the alternative side. I know that the 'trendy' people can maybe start alot of fights because ive lived in cities/islands, you name it, but it doesnt help when people think that because they are 'alternative' they need to feel as though the world is against them. Many of my best friends are trendy and very few are actually into my fashion and music scene, but it doesnt matter because they're all nice people, if you can get past what they're wearing. In a world where 'alternative' people are out numbered 5 to 1 by other groups, wouldnt it be easier to try and get along? I dont understand how a person can be so easily despised because they listen to/wear/do things differently?
I couldnt possibly classify myself, i mean i wear labels and all sorts of random things, i have 26 piercings but i wear adidas shoes, im a Marilyn Manson obsessive but that doesnt mean that i dont own a Justin Timberlake album and a series of Dance records What stereotype am i?
You're all making things worse than they already are, just accept the fact that not everyone will like you in life, and well if you are bothered by the people (who clearly dont have lives) who shout abuse at you, then you obviously dont have much to say about your life. ALL you 'punks' leave the 'preps' alone and ALL the 'preps' leave the 'punks' alone, its pointless and a waste of time, people are not going to change because of a few minor insults, this is an argument neither sides are going to win. I'll feel really sorry for you when the time comes where people have gotten over this and you have nothing to talk about. I know you're all just trying to justify yourselves but there's no need because no one will listen and you are who you are and that needs no explanation. Not wanting to sound like a moral crusader but thats true.
I know im going to get replys, disagreeing or whatever, but im neutral in this argument which makes me a bigger person, because i dont judge people. Think about that.
