1I Almost Lost Him-Surviving a Drunk Driver

My brother John(25) was out at a Club in Newport Beach, Cali celebrating a 6th year anniversary of a significant time in his life, with a bunch of his friends.He hadn't been drinking at all that night because he was supossed to go get his wisdom teeth pulled the next day. He decided he was going to go take his jacket to his car which was across the street from the club, since there was VERY limited parking at the club. So my brother left. After a while his friends started callin his cell phone wondering where he was...n then all of a sudden they hear "OMG theres been a wreck outside", all their stomachs dropped because they knew what had happened. They walked outside to find an ambulance pulling away and a body on the ground covered up, with my brothers shoes right next to it. Right then they started freakin out, and asking people to describe to them the person that was put in the ambulance because they didnt want to believe that the body underneath that body bag was my brother.
That night, when John had been walking back across the street towards the club, there was another guy walking w/ him that was hangin out at the same club but my brother didnt know him. Well while they were walking across the street, this drunk driver, going 80mph hit both of them...the other guy was hit before my brother, his head got decapitated right away within impact..and my brother was the one that got rushed to the emergancy room.
They called us and told us that he wasnt suposse to live through the night, and if he did he would never walk again.
The man that hit my brother was an illegal alien and drunker then Ive ever seen neone (I didnt see him but from the police reports I kno he had a really high alcohol level). And because that man made the choice to drink and drive my brother never made it to my high school graduation...he's just starting to walk again...and even tho they said he would be severly brain damaged...hes not..hes the same ol' John I remember. My brother was lucky, because God has a plan for him, but the other man, Andre...his life was lost...just because of someones stupid decision to drink and drive.
You never really think of things until something happens to u, or someone close to you.
Please dont drink and drive, you dont understand how many innocent ppl ur really putting at risk.
