It took her parents about an hour after the were supposed to leave to actually leave. They were worried something would go wrong, Meleah was they’re only child and they didn’t want anything to happen to her. Meleah reassured them time and time again she would be alright. After all, it was only going to be until midnight.
Her parents finally ended up leaving at 7:30. It was 8:30 now and Meleah had made herself something to eat. She sat down at the table to eat when she heard a a small thump thump out side the window. “Stupid birds,” she thought, “will they ever learn not to run into a window?” She laughed to herself a little bit and kept on eating.
When she had finished eating, she decided to watch TV. So she sat down on the couch at about 9:00 and turned on the TV. Nothing really good was on so she was flipping through the channels wen something caught her eye. It was the news channel. At the bottom of the screen was a scrolling sign that said “WARNING WARNING, lock all of your doors and windows NOW We have just gotten reports from a local police station that two children were kid napped at gun point today about an hour ago. The neighbor who saw it described this scene:the man, a white male about 5'8" came up to the childrens’ house around 8 o’clock today with a gun. He knocked on the door and when the twelve year old girl answered the door, he grabbed her. She screamed and the little boy came to see what had happened, he too was grabbed. They were both shoved into a blue ford pick-up and the man drove away. The vehicle was last seen heading south on highway 76 towards Bentonvile. Please take all nesicary precautions a the suspect is armed and deadly.
Meleah’s heart stopped for a split second. She lived in Bentonville. Her house was only about 50 feet away from the highway, highway 76..... She quickly ran around to all her doors and windows and locked them, now the man couldn’t get in. After about ten min. of total freaking out, she decided she was being stupid and sat down to watch more TV. She had finally calmed down and was really into a show when she heard three thumps outside. Normally she would have dismissed it as nothing and would have gone back to watching TV, but tonight, she started to get a little worried. So she gathered up all her courage and went over to the window to close the blinds. She had just reached the window and pulled on the blind string. As the blinds were going down, she could have sworn that she had seen someone’s face in the window.
“It’s nothing” she thought “im freaking out like a little baby, I need to just chill...” so she decided to do what she always does to relax, she went up to her room and started listening to music, she had it going really loud, louder than her parents would allow her to normally have, but they weren’t there, so she didn’t care. Too bad that it was so loud, she wassn’t able to hear the hugr crash down stairs........
It was 11:30 and Meleah’s parents were getting ready to go home. They decided to call and tell her they were on they’re way. Meleah’s mom used her cell and called home.
Meleah:Hello?
Mom:hey sweety, we’re on our way home rite now, is everything ok?
Meleah: yes mom, u don’t have to worry about me, im alright....now.....the oven, go to the oven, I love u , I love dad too, and don’t worry, im gonna be ok, ill c u in......a while”
Then she hung up.
Her mom was a little concernd about the call and told her husband about it, she also told him that Meleah said she loved them both very much. When they finally got home, Meleah’s mom smelled something cooking. She thought it was a little weird that Meleah couldn’t get what ever was in the oven out by herself, but she decided to check anyway.
When she opened the oven she screamed and then fainted. Meleah’s dad came running and saw what is wife had seen. Inside was the bloody body of his one and only child, with a note pinned to her with a knife. The note was in blood and read:
Next time maybe you’ll think twice about leaving your little girl home alone.”
if u don’t get it, the gurl was already dead wen her mom called, she had come back to let her parents no where her body was and that se loved them and that she wus alright now.
