1 A Great Day Out...
Rating: PG-13
Quality: (Quality: Unrated)
It was 6am and my sister had woken up to pack her bag to go away on a business trip. Half asleep I lay there not aware of the fun day that was in store for me. I had time to actually open my eyes a little more to realise that I was going to meet Eddy in 7 hours. I was very excited about it because I had met him the week before and we were going for "lunch" to get to know one another better. (either that or go clubbing with a stranger) I went back to sleep and dreamt about the possibilities what I might get up to and what to say. Things like the outfit I was going to wear seemed like a life death situation. I was still angry about my spot that erupted the previous day but luckily it was almost gone. (my secret to perfect skin is not to wear foundation.) Carrying on- It was so out of the ordinary just 4 weeks before I had another date with an old school mate but it never worked out. (see my ex letter in the love section lol). But this was different I mean the anticipation and the week and a half wait was enough to make me look forward to seeing him. We texted each other a few times and it made me feel better and just to make sure that my perfect day was going ahead still I texted him the night before and luckily he said he would be there waiting for me at the waterfall.
I woke up again, got ready and me and my dad went into town. We went to the beer festival lunch session, of course he didn't buy me a beer then he bought me coke but I didn't get mad I know Im just 16 and I have to be 18. I had an hour before meeting him and was really nervous. My grandad was making it worse actually by saying "Eddy" every five seconds and then going you've got this much time until you go meet him. He even joked about going I'm coming to meet him with you. Anyway it was nearly 1 and I had to go meet him. When I got there he was sitting on the bench and I was really nervous I had to go back round the other side of the waterfall and hide for a few seconds to get my breath then I walked straight up to him and said "hi".
The first thing he said was that he wasn't hungry and neither was I really so we agreed to go CD shopping. My kind of guy took me to one of my favourite shops ever. The upstairs punk and metal section in the record shop. From that point on I just knew that he was the guy for me. The even cooler part was that it was my second time in that shop that day because me and my dad popped in before. The conversations just flowed we were constantly laughing and that was before the pub.
So he took me to his favourite pub called Strutt's bar and he asked what I wanted to drink. Somehow an error in communication must have meant he actually bought me the same as him. We had a nice cold pint of stella artois. I'm not this huge pint drinker and as we chatted I was sipping my lager anyway he had finished his already so I had to rush mine a bit. We had another pint after that, conversation never running dry this was my perfect moment I had dreamt of all my life. When he bought in another round of drinks I thought it was odd I heard him say 6 then the bartender was putting shots of white bacardi into shot glasses and there was 4 red watermelon and 2 green lime which I still to this day don't know what was in them but it was nice and strong. I can't believe I managed to match his pace finally. After disappointment with the meal I wanted not being served we decided to go elsewhere for lunch. In fact we were just walking then I needed to prop myself up against him. Somehow we went from arms round each other and then to holding hands. We never did get our lunch, Eddy and I were just walking around the city centre and chatting and laughing and having the time of our lives (we were very tipsy.)
Somehow we ended up going to the river gardens and well I never made the same mistake as I did when I went there with Steven. I resisted tempation like I said I never kiss on the first date. (This wasn't a date-Eddy though he wants a proper one next time) Me and Eddy just grabbed a bench and we still felt good after those shots and we just sat there together head resting on his and we just had a laugh together. I could have gone to sleep there and then in his arms it was so comfortable being with him even though I have only met him a couple of times. How 4 hours seemed to pass by we both didn't want it to end but he walked me to the bus stop and the bus was there so I said goodbye there and then. Aww I have to wait until friday to go clubbing with him but he text me later that night and he definitely can't wait either.
That night I went to the beer festival, had lots of beer and watched a Status Quo tribute band. The atmosphere in the hall was amazing a huge party like and the band were exceptional. I still wished that Eddy could have come with me but he'd be impressed that I went to a beer festival at 16. I don't know what it is but now I realised that I just had to wait for a perfect guy to come along. If I hadn't have given him my number then I wouldn't have had that wonderful day with him. And I am not going to rush this the more time with Eddy the better. Why spoil what you've got, a friendship, a flirty and fun one.
