Well, OK.....
1) An unexpected compliment from someone you admire.
Your pal admitting he payed your idol twenty dollars to be nice to you for a day.
2) The first cool day of fall.
What??? Be happy that summer is over, school is about to start, and winter is only a few short months away???
3) A sweet note from someone in the mail who thought to use the old fashioned system rather than email.
Realizing that the letter is from the same idol whom your pal payed twenty dollars to be nice to you.
4) Laughing at an inside joke.
Inside jokes always make someone feel bad.
5) Being in a group of friends and knowing that you are an important part of it.
Being in a group of friends you thought you were an important part of, but in reality they just used you to get through the school year without doing any real work. Being publicly humiliated when they no longer need to use you. Those were the good old days...
6) When you see someone you know and both people take off in a sprint towards eachother with arms held out awaiting an embrace.
Then the person your sprinting to runs past you and hugs the person behind you. Talk about embarrassment.
7) Knowing you did the right thing and having someone come up and tell you they are proud of you.
But feeling exceptionally guilty because you did the right thing to save your own neck.
8) Getting flowers.
and having them die the very next day because you forgot to plant and water them.
9) Holding a baby.
Holding babies makes be nervous, I am always afraid I'll do something wrong and hurt it.
9) Laughing so hard with your friends you cry.
Laughing so hard with your friends your epilepsy and athsma kick in at the same time and kill you.
10) Reading a wonderful book, being sad it is over and then when you return it to the library find out that there is a sequel.
Taking the sequel home and discovering it is completely devoid of the magic of the original, and being disappointed all over again.
11) Getting a strike in bowling and everyone celebrating becuase it was pure luck.
IT WAS NOT LUCK. IT WAS SKILL. STOP BRINGING ME DOWN.
12) Acting silly with a friend.
The friend thinking your an idiot who can't be serious and deserting you.
13) Finding the absolute perfect gift for someone.
Then learning your not invited to their party.
14) A walk on the beach, sand in your toes, wind in your face.
Sand down your pants, sun scorching your face, whiplash from the wind, which is about to blow in an ocean wave that will drench you.
15) Going to bed early tired and knowing you are going to get a great night's sleep and get to sleep late.
Waking up to find you missed all the fun at the sleepover, and you slept so soundly you wet the bed your friend's parents let you sleep. Knowing you will be teased for the next four years because of it.
16) Blowing out all the candles on your birthday cake.
Blowing so hard you uproot a candle, which sets fire to some pictures a friend is looking through.
17) Looking at your baby pictures.
Your sitting there, minding your own buissness, looking at the precious few objects you have left from your childhood; your favorite baby pictures. When suddenly, your friend blows a candle off his birthday and it sets fire to the pictures, ruining them. You will never forgive him for this, NEVER.
18) Realizing that it is the small things in life that count the most
Realizing it makes no difference anyway because there are no good things in your life, big or small.
