People always complain about 'preps' labeling them as 'weirdos' or 'freaks'. You've just done the same thing, if people are going to be stupid enough to judge you on the way you dress or what music they listen to, do they really matter?
The only people that matter are the ones that care about you, no matter how you dress or how you look. It may be hard when people are nasty and cruel just because you dress differently from them.
I've heard many people who are considered 'punks' slagging off the popular kids at school for all wearing the same stuff, but if they want to do that, then good luck to them. Anyway, if you really think it's so stupid, shouldn't you feel sorry for them? Feel sorry that they don't have enough courage to step away from the crowd and be themselves? And you don't know, what you see may be who they really are. It's a free world, people; men and women have given their lives to ensure people have the right to be who they want to be.
The other way around is the same when popular people slag off the 'punks'/'goths/whatever, leave them alone, you have the right to be independant, wear whatever the hell you like without being judged. What kind of person makes a decision on what your like by the clothes you wear?
If you don't like the person, don't talk to them. Leave, rise above them, if they can't accept you for who they are...FK THEM
Another thing thats pisses me off is when people say things like "Punk is dead, it's all wannabes now".
Punk is a way of life, it's whatever you want it to be so how can it be dead? Granted a lot of the new stuff coming out isn't "punk."
I have never classed myself as 'punk' so i find it funny when people tell me "Your not punk, you'll never be punk, my goldfish's punker than you" (Not kidding, someone said that to me), i think, whatever, grow up. I like Good Charlotte, Mest, Linkin Park, Evenescence, a bit of Avril's stuff (I KNOW she's not 'punk'), I like The Clash, Rancid, Goldie lookin chain, A.F.I, Sex Pistols, Nirvana...
The list is endless, you may not think this has a point but it does, I'm not afraid to admit i like certain bands, people say stuff to me like "You like Mest you'll never be punk" but i don't care.
I'm not 'punk', I'll probably never be a 'punk' whatever that is. Punk will only become a style when you have to be a certain type of person to be classed as 'punk' which it is sadly becoming.
This is only my opinion and if you want to argue with me or reply then e-mail me, and i'll listen but remember i can state my opinion as Voltaire said "I dislike what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
