1 and only Aswang
Rating: PG
Quality: (Quality: Unrated)
There is this Filipino legend about this half man half creature thing called the Aswang. It's supposed to be half man and half bat or something with wings. I don't really know if it's true or not, but my soccer teammates all say that it is true (their from the Philippines). After typhoon Chabba here on Guam, a little boy about 11 years old and his brother- around 14 years old went walking outside to see all the damages the typhoon had made......at night. As they were walking down a street in Machanao,(a village in Guam) the little boy saw a black figure sitting on a tree branch of a taotaomona tree- (a tree that is said to be haunted by ancient chamorro spirits). He couldn't really see it's face or what it really was because it was night. The boy walked a little closer to it and the figure flew away. The boy's brother told him to run when he saw the figure fly. He knew the story about the Aswang. The little boy ran, although he didn't really know what was going wrong. Since the little boy didn't know about the Aswang, the little boy just followed what his brother was doing. When they reached their house, the older brother told their mom about the figure. The mom stared at them, in amazement. She couldn't beleive what she was hearing..... her 2 and only sons saw the Aswang. The mother of the 2 boys looked at them with a blank face expression. The older brother, knowing about the story of the Aswang, looked at the younger brother, wondering why he was still alive, because he was told by his grandmother that all who saw and walked up to the Aswang, would be either eaten by the creature or cursed by them forever. Weird thing is, the little boy didn't have to deal with any. Remember, I don't really know if this is true, but just make sure you stay indoors at night- you never know if the Aswang is there, somewhere near you, on a tree, or probably it will take the form of a human, and fool you.... be careful at night.....or else.
