I oppose the No Child Gets Left Behind Act---Reply

I don't fully agree. I know that some kids that benefit from the No Child Gets Left Behind Act are just slackers and are looking for an easy way out of doing their work. But you have to realize that not all people are as gifted in school as you are. Before I was put on a 504 plan(for a learning disability)I work my butt off and got high D's and low C's. And it's not like I didn't do my work and just slacked off. I spen every secod I could trying to understand the work that the teachers were givng me. I even went in for extra help and it still didn't work. So the way I see it the No Child Gets Lets Left Behind Act has right intentions and just makes it a little bit esier for the students who NEED it. All my plan did for me was give me extra time on test and quizzes and let me sit on the floor. (I freak out if I sit in a desk)
Until this act was passed I just slipped through the cracks of the 2 different school districts. I am  Sr. in high school (about to graduate this year) and I just got put on the 504 plan during the second semester of my Jr. year. and not this year I have all mid to high B's and a few low A's, BUT I also still have to work my butt off. So just b/c I am on a plan doesn't mean I (personaly) don't get to slack off. I anything I get all the help I can b/c I know I still need to earn my grades just like every other student in the school and not have them handed to me.
