And I’m not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find
Your eyes filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things
We didn’t get to say.
I know how much you loved me
As much as I loved you
And each time you think of me
I know you’ll miss me too.
But as I turned to walk away
A tear filled my eye
The hardest thing I could ever do
Was kiss you and say good-bye
I thought of all the yesterdays
The good ones and the bad
I thought of all the love we shared
And all the fun we had.
But then I fully realized
That this would never be
For emptiness and memories
Would take the place of me
But when tomorrow starts without me
Just try and understand
That this decision I have made
Was based on life’s demands.
The hurt that I felt every day
The pain and suffering inside
Something that I tried to conceal
But failed to push it aside.
I know that you will hurt
And I know that you’ll be sad
And you might think I’ll go to hell
But that is not what’s planned.
I spoke to God and he said to me
Here is all I promised you
Today your life on earth will pass
But here its starts a new
God said, You’ve been a trusting soul
You’ve been faithful and been true,
Though there were times you did some things
You know you shouldn’t do.
God said, You’ve been forgiven
And now at last your free
No more of the endless days
Of pain and suffering
He said, you have left behind loved ones
That you know are feeling sad,
But I will do everything I can for them
And keep them close at hand.
I will help relieve their suffering
Although that will be a chore,
Because there is no one that can relieve
The hurt you left them to endure
So I must put my trust in him
At the time that I depart
God said he will keep you close to him
And will help you heal your heart.
So when tomorrow starts without me
Don’t think we’re far apart
For every time you think of me
I’ll be right there in your heart.
