Vampirs Chapter 1 Mr. Black

Stephen sat in the interrogation room and waited to betray his people. Technically, it wasn’t an interrogation room, but all rooms like this were the same. Two small uncomfortable chairs and a light that shined into your eyes and blinded you to your interrogator, yes if that didn’t qualify this room as an interrogation room nothing did.
It had taken him almost ninety years to get where he was today. He had killed a lot of people, human and vampire alike. However, when you make murder your business it stops bothering you after a while. He was only 230 years old (about 25 in human years) but he was one of the most powerful vampires in the western world. Of course, he had to hide most of his powers or else people might begin to suspect something was amiss. They might even be able to connect him with those murdered colonies.
His ponderings of his dubious past were interrupted when a man walked into the room and sat at the other end of the table. He looked to be about thirty something. He seemed well built, and had a full head of neatly trimmed blond hair, which was quite the opposite of Stephens’s untidy black hair.
“Hello,” he began “My name is Mr. Smith. I am the president of Shadow Corp. I understand that you have some information for me.”
“Yes,” Stephen replied, “I can give you the location of a large vampire colony. That is . . . if I feel so inclined.” Stephen quickly read Mr. Smiths eyes and saw doubt.
“And why should I believe you?” Mr. Smith asked in an arrogant tone.
“Because,” Stephen replied simply, “I haven’t killed you.”
“Ha. At the slightest sign of hostilities from you several very large men with very large guns will rush in here and cover the walls with your blood. Do you really think I am stupid enough to associate with a vampire and not take certain precautions?” Mr. Smith opened his coat and revealed a high caliber revolver in a shoulder holster.
Stephen let out a deep laugh, and then fixed Mr. Smith with such a piercing gaze that it caused Smith to lean his chair a2way from the table slightly. ”You and I both know that by the time you got to that gun your head would be separated from your shoulders, and that anybody that came through that door no matter how well armed would surely receive a similar fate.” Stephen saw, in Mr. Smith’s eyes, that he knew that this was true and that Smith was beginning to believe him.
All was as it should be. All was going according to plan.
“Enough of these empty threats; let’s get down to business. How many vampires are at the colony?”
“About 200.” Stephen replied.
“OK, no problem, my men can handle that. Now give me the location.
“Patience human,” Stephen gave Smith a smug smile. “There are certain conditions that must be met first.”
Smiths face fell “What are they?” He asked.
“Number one,” Stephen began,” After you kill them, you will allow me and my . . . business partners to drain the bodies.”
“That won’t be a problem.”
“Number two, you and your men will obey my orders without question.”
“Sorry,” Smith replied,” I do not think I can do that. In fact I don’t even know why I should help you, vampire.”
“Of course, how rude of me.” Stephen put on his biggest fake smile. Smith could see the points of his fangs in that smile. “I never fully explain the terms of our agreement. This colony is only the beginning. Over the course of the next ten years, I am going to become an extremely influential man in both the human and vampire worlds. It will not be hard for me to accumulate a large amount of wealth, and as you humans say money is power.
In ten years, Shadow Corp. will be the largest corporation on the planet. In twenty, it will be the only corporation on the planet. And, in Fifty years, I can personally guaranty that I and my business associates, who are known as The Black 13, will rule what is left of the human race. You are guarantied a place within The Black 13, and there will be plenty of vampire bodies for your research.”
Smith looked at Stephen questioningly. “Fifty years is a long time.”
“Not when you are a vampire.”
Smith thought about this. A place at the head of the new world order, the chance for near immortality, and the prospect of a nearly unlimited supply of money, this sounded to good to be true. As Smiths mother used to say: if something sounds too good to be true then it probably is. Smith always listened to mother. “How do I know you wont betray me?”
“Well,” Stephen replied,” You are just going to have to trust me.”
“I am not sure that I can do that.”
“In that case . . .” Stephen reached quickly into his pocket, causing smith to jump up and drop his hand to his gun. “I think you should call your bank and check your account.” Stephen took a cell phone out of his pocket, and handed it to Smith. Smith cursed himself for his foolishness. How could Stephen have smuggled a weapon into the building. Besides, Smith knew that this vampire did not need a gun to kill him. The vampire had his fangs, claws, and superhuman strength and speed for that.
Stephen waited patently while Smith called his bank and received a nice surprise when he discovered that twenty million dollars had been deposited into his personal account.
Stephen pondered how easily manipulated human were when there was money involved. Maybe it had something to with the fact that humans were too lazy to hunt or grow there own food. They paid others to do it for them. To make matters worse they then paid to get the food from these people. Didn’t humans enjoy the warm rush of blood that came when they cut there struggling prey’s throat? No, they even had societies that protected animals. Humans repressed their own instincts. Didn’t the humans realize that animals were put on earth to sustain them? Animals were put on earth to be hunted and killed in order for humans to live, just as humans were put on earth to be hunted and killed in order for vampires to live.
What disgusted Stephen the most was that most vampires sympathize with the humans. Most vampires only killed when they had to. In addition, even when they killed it was always someone who had a chance to fight back, although no human really stands much of a chance against a vampire. All humans are equally worthless. Stephen did not discriminate. He killed women, children, the elderly, it didn’t matter to him. Baby’s blood was the best, but Stephen preferred virgin teenagers. There blood was delicious, and it was some times fun to rape them before he killed them.
Smith brought Stephen out of his own thoughts by waving Stephens cell phone in front of his face.
“I’m sorry,” Stephen apologized “I was lost in my own thoughts.”
“It’s alright.” Smith said nonchalantly. He really did not want to know what vampires think about.
“So,” Stephen spoke up “do you trust me?”
“No,” Smith replied, but I am willing to take a risk.”
“Excellent So you will fulfill my second condition and obey my commands?”
“Yes, Yes I will.”
“Stupendous” Stephen threw his arms into the air. “Now my last condition.” Stephen became very serious, and placed his hands on Smith’s shoulders. “None of this can ever leave Shadow Corp.”
“That wont be a problem.” Smith replied. “Now give me the location of the vampire colony.”
“Patience my good friend. All will be made clear in due time. Get your men and equipment together. Meanwhile I have some preparations of my own to make. I will contact you when I am ready.” Stephen looked smith directly in the eyes. Stephen noticed that Smith was unnerved, most likely by Stephens’s vampire eyes. They were like cat’s eyes. “You and I are going to do great things.” This was, of course, a lie.
In a few weeks, Smith would be dead, and shadow Corp. would cease to exist. There accounts would be mysteriously drained, the money of course going into Stephen’s account. Then Stephen would move on to the next colony and convince the next corporation to help him. However, there was something about Smith. Stephen liked him. Moreover, he trusted him. Something Stephen hadn’t done in almost a quarter of a century was trust a human. Stephen toyed with the idea of honoring his promise, and making Smith a vampire and a member of The Black 13. He only had four of the thirteen members anyway. As an added bonus, he would have Shadow Corp. behind him. He could make Shadow Corp. into an extreme useful tool. He even liked the name. It had a nice ring to it.
Then Stephen did something else that he had never done before. He decided to trust Smith, and made a very serious mistake. Stephen didn’t know about the experiment that lay dormant in the Shadow Corp. Basement Lab. Stephen didn’t know about Project Hybrid. This lack of knowledge would prove to be very bad for Stephen.
Stephen turned to leave.
“Wait” Smith called after him.
Stephen turned around. Smith had so many questions that he wanted to ask, but the only one that came out was, “Who are you?”
“Who am I?” Stephen replied. He gave a very large smile that was such complete bullshit that Stephen’s breath should have smelled much worse. Smith saw fangs extend behind that smile.
“I am Mr. Black”
Mr. Black turned and left.
Mr. Black was hungry, and a little horny, so he wandered of into the night to find a victim, preferably a teenage virgin.
Later, as the sun was coming up, he lay in the bed of a cheep motel with the drained body of his most recent victim. Both his hungers had been satisfied, and he finally slept. He dreamed of the day that a black dawn would rise, and what remained of humanity would fear the name of Stephen Black.
