I’m on a bus to Evansville
I hear “the terrorists attack”
I think what a dumb commercial
When we return to school
They told us “New York’s been hit”
The Twin Towers have fallen
Our World Trade Center is gone
The Pentagon has been hit too
Our parents are worried
They’ve all called the school
We turn on the TV’s
To see the aftermath
We all start to cry
Though most of us
Know no one involved
It’s an awful tragedy
And it affects everyone
Phone lines are busy
No one can call anywhere
We all remain patient
Cooperative Orderly
More people begin to wear
And respect our American Flag
Families are becoming closer
America begins to pray
Whoever damaged us
Will see that we still mourn
And have moved on
America will avenge our innocent deaths
Bearing no mercy to that evil hand
Our national anthem
Is heard in the skies
“Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there
Oh say does that star spangled banner
Yet wave o’er the land of the free
And the home of the brave”
Ringing in the Heavens
Are prayers said for America
To remain standing strong…
