My name is Sammi and I'm 14 years of age. By the age of twelve i considered my life meaningless and wanted t find a way to let my anger, saddness or other feelings.. I began cutting.. Not many people realized at first because I wore long jumpers (Jackets) And I would hold the sleeve in the palm of my hand. I was really close friends with a guy.. He's one of the main reasons I deciced to stop cutting because he had taught me that life had a meaning and if it wasn't we wouldn't be here. I'm sure everyone goes through a rough stage in their life but there is never a good enough excuse to commit suicide (Yes I tried but I was foolish, naive and stupid) I'm alot older now and I've fallen for the one guy who taught me it's worth living and he helps me with my problems and he listens.
I know a few suicidal people but I also know a few people who cut to let out agression or other problems. Some of them need to talk with someone to let emotions out instead of releasing them in other ways like harming yourself.
Alot of people will also cut because they're that staved for attention and want people to believe that their life is that horrible and worthless it's not worth living.. I mean does your dad come home drunk and rape or beat you? Does your mom.. Or step mom or whoever you live with make believe that you're sick because you're different and sicken you by filling your body with unessescary and harmful drugs? Do your family members die from drug over doses? Do you have to take shelter from a building because you don't have a home to call your own?
I think people today are lucky for the opportunity to live in a priveledged world. So if you are considering suicide go see a counseller, trusted friend, teacher or just someone you feel comfortable talking with and try to sort issues out.
