Riddle: Jack and Jill went walking up the hill one day. They fetched the pail of water and it was really muddy on the way down. (Jack didn't fall down and break his crown) Jack however, got mud on his face but Jill didn't. When they got home, Jill washed her face but Jack didn't. Why did Jill wash her face?

Solution: Because Jill looked at Jack and thought 'Jack's got mud on his face, so I must have mud on my face.' So she washed her face. And Jack looked at Jill and thought 'Jill hasn't got mud on her face so I mustn't have mud on my face.' So he didn't wash his face.
