1 1 ...Pseudonym of a Lie (please read!)

Ok, first off I wrote this poem in like 15 minutes. The story behind it is that I was in a relationship at the time with my best friend (I changed the name for whatever reason people change names, lol). Anyways, I wrote it to hopefully shed some light on why she said i was "acting weird"... Well... let me know what you think.

PSEUDONYM OF A LIE

  I don't want to hurt you, I'd hate for you to cry
I need to be true to myself though, this is a lie.
You're my best friend, my favorite person in this world
I love you, I'd die for you, but this is getting old.

  Since I found out you liked me, everything had changed
I knew inside you were just my friend, I didn't feel the same.
I pushed all that aside and tried to view you in a different light
I tried and I tried, but something just wasn't right.

  I went for a month, trying to be logical
We had so much in common, a relationship was actually possible.
No matter how long I spent with you, my feelings never changed
The only thing different were my thoughts, getting in the way.

  I love your smile, your laugh, the way your eyes light up
I guess sometimes though, all that just isn't enough.
You're my best friend, Allie, the best one I've ever had
I love you more than anyone, but was our friendship so bad?
