1 abortion - rape (reply)

Far be it from me to ever contemplate what you had to go through, and far be it from me to ever to think that what you did was unjustified.

Most people who do have trouble choosing a side are compelled to look at it in two ways:

1. People who have abortions because of incest, because of rape, because of a situation they are in that they feel makes having a child completely unreasonable.

2.  People who have abortions because they dont want children, no more, no less.

And everyone feels conflicted because creating a system that would allow for one and not the other would be impossible here, so the only option is either to allow for both or be against both.

I am pro-life because I beleive the child, the embryo, the zygote is a human life, entitled with the same rights as any other human life no matter how tragic the circumstances may be.

But my reasoning is that abortion is no answer, but a circumstance of the crime, so our energies must always be concentrated on the elimination of the crime, the punishment of the criminal, ultimatly, the prevention.

Utopian though it may sound or unreasonable though it may be it still seems the only possible, long term and real solution we have.

No one who is pro-choice is my enemy, my enemy are those people who pressure people to the position that makes them pro-choice.
