Stephen Eugene Langston is his name. To most he was known as Langston, but he was called by many other names. Pook, Pookie, Gus, Lanks, Langy, Pooh Bear, Booger, Blondie, Goldielocks, Angel... the names go on.

He was an amazing person. Amazing in everyday life, one of the most gorgeous guys I've ever met... absolutely breathtaking at baseball. He played for the Overton Bobcats and in his senior year he helped them become TN's state runner up in high school baseball and he 35 wins in a row. He was going to Belmont University on a full scholarship. He was 1... the only player in Overton history (and forever... the number is now retired) to ever wear the number. Yep that's him... our Langston. Our Angel.

He was only 18. He was taken away from us. August 14, 2005. Everyday I look  my bracelet on my arm and I wonder why? But then I don't question God's motives because I understand. God wanted him for himself. Why wouldn't he? I told you already... He was amazing. He was 1 on the field and 1 in our hearts and there are so many people who love him.

Today is his 19th birthday. The first one since he's been gone. Tough day for all of us, but especially for his parents. He was their only child. He'll never ever be forgotten. His memory lives on through us each and every day. We miss him more and more each day. Every song on the radio somehow reminds us of him. He lived EVERY day to the fullest. And I will try to do the same
