just like the windshield
Hearts are broken
just like the bones
Trust is lost
as is a life
Friendshops ruined
from carelessness
The new car mangled
just like the body
Death looms over
carries them away
Screams are uttered
fall upon dead ears
Shoulders shaken
eyes do not open
Silent tears stream down
fall upon a still cheek
The driver lays his head
upon his dead friends face
And lightly kisses
his cold blue lips
The police arrive
lights are flashing
Sheets cover a now lifeless face
blood seeping through
With the cold touch of metal
upon his wrists
Sitting in the backseat of a car
he turns around
Looks out the window
sees the devastation
Friends are crying
parents clinging
To their lifeless child
eyes no longer gleaming
He thinks and wonders
why did this have to happen
The car slowly pulls away
sirens screaming
The people fade away
but not in his mind
The memories remain
piercing his heart
All this caused
by a single bottle
By picking up the keys
and getting in the car
