Tips on how to get AND
keep your man hooked!!
#1:Just Spell it out!
Flattery~find out what he likes to do or something
about him and compliment him on it. Dont over do it
though (like say "Your hair looks great today" if hes got
some dandruff...)
Listen~Once hes talking, LISTEN! if you really listen to
what hes saying, chances are he'll listen to you.
Intrest~find something you both participate in or
enjoy (a certain sport, playing in the band, school
plays, a club, etc.) so you not only have something to
talk about, you can hang out together doing this
thing. TIP: dont pretend to be something you're not
(like saying you play ice hockey when you cant
skate). starting the relationship on lies wont get you 2
anywhere in the long run!
Responsible~if your sweetie is taken, dont get
involved. dont hurt feelings and dont flirt if you're not
really interested...keep everyone happy.
Trust yourself~believe that you will survive this whole
process no matter what happens. if it dosnt work, he'll
realize what hes missing sooner or later.
#2: DoNt FrEaK oUt!
When asking a question, dont spend the time that
he's answering worrying about what your next
question will be. instead of getting all worked up, try
to listen, maybe his answer will give you an idea for
the next question.
#3:Put it together and its as easy as ABC!
a) Make your move (walk past him, "accidentally"
bump into him, or maybe even get up the nerve to
say "hi")
b) Back off a little bit and give him a minute to
acknowledge that you're there.
c) Try your first approach again so he knows he didnt
just dream it! if he still isnt responding, try again later. if
its STILL not working, this may not be so much of a love
match...
#4: Get the self assurance and you're half way there!
Dont make overgeneralizations. big word huh? in
other words, dont think things like "im not pretty
enough to date someone like him" or "he only dates
cheerleaders". These statements wont help you at all.
#5: Make it easier on you.
No one likes getting hurt, so make this easier for you
by taking some of the pressure out of it. instead of
thinking of this as a way to get a boyfriend, think of it
as a way to get another close guy friend. you can
elaborate on that as soon as you're friends.
#6: Staring contest.
Making eye contact is important, but how much is
too much or too little? How you're looking at him can
send certain signals. A constant stare makes you
seem overpowering and may make him
uncomfortable, while short glaces make you look
insecure. Try this- glance, linger, look away,
reconnect. Eye contact-about 60% of the time
together.
#7: Listen to what hes NOT saying!
Look at his body position to tell you how hes feeling. if
hes turned away, thats usually an "unwelcome" signal,
so you should try back later. Crossed arms mean hes
nervous so try to ease it up a little. if his hands are
hidden (in pockets or behind his back) he my be
hiding something from you.
#8: Hall of shame...
DONT BE, OR FALL FOR A GUY, WHOS LIKE THIS.
*The Blatant flirt* over does it, making the other person
really uncomfortable (ie: whistling for guys and fainting
for gurls)
*The Confusing flirt* commonly will say something like:
"Yes i might like you, but im not interested in going
out."
*The Self-centered flirt* is checking themself out every
2 seconds. these flirts want anyone who will give them
the time of day.
*The controlling flirt* just flirts to tease. They dont
mean anything by it, they just like making people
squirm.
