If it's not one thing it's another.
Tonight, my soldier is in a bad place, emotionally, because one of his buddies accidentally shot himself. He had seen the guy handle his weapons for 4 years and believes it was really suicide.
Thus, this proud Army girlfriend is (once again) awake from 2:00-3 or 4 in the morning, quietly talking him down and easing his anxiety, in that way that only women are able to do.
My heart aches for him and his buddies.
You know, in my life, I've been to 2 funerals. One was for a grandfather I barely knew and the other was my ex-boyfriend's best friend's mother.
Next week, my soldier and his guys will be going to funeral number 32 for a friend that they spent 18-20 hours a day with for the past 3 years.
Let me repeat myself:
32 funerals since June.
So...
while this gets a little annoying at times...
I have absolutely no problem at all losing a few hours of sleep, every other day or something, just so that I can get him to calm down enough to be able to get some rest.
It's the least I can do.
