"Your on the list", those words were said.
All I could think was 'I don't want to be dead.'
My heart raced faster and now I knew,
That it couldn't possibly be true.
'I'm too young to die,
It has to be a lie.'
But I knew that it couldn't be true,
The words that came out as if on que.
'Today' I thought, dreaming it wasn't true.
As my friend looked into my eyes so blue.
'I'm fifteen, I don't want this to be my last year.'
I thought with a tear.
I opened the door,
With my eyes glued to the board.
"No person may leave..."
Why are they taking this so seriously?
I looked at my seat with eyes oh so sad,
And held on to the locket given to me by my dad.
'Why now' I thought.
'Will this guy ever be caught?'
I sat down in my chair,
And fixed my hair.
Then I listened to the silence of the room.
As I thought of the eternal doom.
'It's not fair.' I thought.
As I sat there in doubt.
'Why me?'
'I'm only fifteen'
My blue eyes turning red.
As I laid down my aching head.
Thinking of a reason why,
This could possibly be a lie.
"Please lord," I said.
As I covered my head.
I listened to the steady drum on the door,
Then the teachers feet on the floor.
But he opened it too soon.
For standing outside was that doom,
And it was coming into our room.
As I lifted my head.
The silence was dead.
Because everyone screamed a name.
Followed by a big bang.
Then it was over just as soon as it had start,
And I could still feel the racing of my heart.
I finally opened my eyes,
And could tell this wasn't a lie.
I lifted my head.
And saw my best friend, beside me dead.
I was alive and well,
But she was killed.
"My best friend, dead." I said in grief.
But it was more or less in disbelief.
I was alive and would go on,
While she would be put in the ground.
All of this started because of one kid.
Who decided to strike terror on April 6th,
And ended in death.
This poem is sad, I know.
And the beggining was even put on a news show.
But it just shows how much terror and fear,
Can be put in one year.
