The days go by, long and lonely, and as time slips away, I lay down my head, I wonder... How would my life be with all the riches in the world, no one to cry over, I feel something warm run down my cheeks, I try to close my eyes tight, somehow lock myself out of reality Drifting off to the land of my dreams, the one place where the pieces actually fit Like a stab in my heart, the buzzing of my alarm clock goes off, awakening myself to another day of hell Again, away to myself, I cry those same silent tears Is there any hope? The large amount of faith I once had, has been slowly torn away from me The bright warm light that once shown, has dwindled, like a match's flame, burning strong, yet quickly turning into a distant memory They say nobody's perfect, I'm not too sure about that anymore Although the world kicks me, tosses me around and scars my soul, I know, that small amount of hope I may still have in me, encourages me, gives me strength I wonder... Maybe those silent tears will be joyous one day, just maybe Ok this is the first poem I've ever written so it may be a little messed up but I wrote this when I was in a time of trials and depression, I have slowly worked myself around the obstacles, and those scars have made me a little stronger.
