She sits, Amidst friends, Smiling, laughing, making jokes, Hoping nobody sees, The feelings she keeps hidden inside. Everyone finds her pretty, Smart, kind, and friendly, But she feels isolated, alone, Like a ghost, not really there. She hides behind a mask, Hiding the feelings deep inside her, Only letting them out, When she lies alone at night. She cries herself to sleep, Only to wake up and hide some more She wants so much to break free, To let someone find her, But she's scared. Scared of what people will think, Scared of what they might say, So she hides, Hoping and wishing that someone will find her, Some day.
