She had never felt alone before,
She thought her friends didn’t love her anymore,
Through the years that they had shared,
Their friendship became deep and layered,
Filled with laughter, emotions that they feel,
But now those layers had begun to peel.
And she felt alone.

At school as she watched as the other kids played,
She couldn’t help but feel betrayed.
“They should be my friends”’ she had thought,
but alas, they were not.
Then she began to build a wall,
To protect her so she couldn’t fall.
She stayed away from other kids,
They had turned her into this.
Now she was alone
