20 Things To Know In Army Cadets

1. Bring everything they say to bring on your FTX's. You really do need that flashlight and wool socks.
2. Suck up to everyone one you know. Even people that are the same rank as you, they may get moved up.
3. Learn how to keep a straight face.
4. Act like you love what you're doing.
5. Don't laugh at anyone.
6. Get your drill the best you can.
7. Don't eat speghetti in your uniform. Tomatoe sauce and uniforms don't go good together.
8. Don't walk across the parade square! March!
9. Buy starch, no matter what. You need it.
10. Don't play the snare drum. It's heavy as hell. If you aren't really strong, you won't be able to hold if for an hour during CO's parade. Trust me. I know!
11. Never bad mouth anyone. They can always be a higher rank one day. You never know......
12. Make as many friends as you can.
13. Make GOOD excuses why you were late for something, cuz they will know if it's a lie or not.
14. Never ever ever salute with a drum stick in your hand!
15. It's not a good idea to have a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship with anyone outside of cadets, it may turn bad.
16. Love your sergeants. One day the might be in the Special Forces with you as a higher rank.
17. Look important.
18. Always look like your doing something, or you may end up doing laps around the armouries.
19. Know that Sports Nights aren't really sports, it's just more training that you get to do. And weightlift!
20. Try to have fun, even though it's really hell.

I know that all these things are important because I am an Army Cadet! I've learned all of this from bad experiences. And I've wanted to quit a million times, but eventually it's become funner, except those damn FTX's!! Which I will always hate.
