My golden lab, Millie meant the world to me.  Every free moment i had, i was most likely with her.  I had her for five wonderful years and then we had to put her to sleep because she had bitten somebody.  I was so unaware of how death can be right in front of you and you just look right past it.  The night i was told that my best friend was about to die i thought it was the end of the world.  I had just gotten back from a walk with Millie.  I went to the back to my house of get the phone from my dad.  My dad told me that he had made a few phone calls to see if anybody wanted her and that nobody did and that we where going to have to put her asleep.  That night, i though may be my last night too, i broke down crying and ran to my mom, hoping she would tell me everything was going to be ok, she ran back and talked to my dad.  Later that night she told me that we were not putting her to sleep.  The next morning, my mom was sitting at the foot of my bed and the first thing i asked was, "Is Millie still here?" She broke down crying and said my dad took her that morning.  I never got to say good bye or what a great friend she had been and how she deserved so much more than i gave her.  I would really enjoy talking to some of yall, please email me @ lindsaygrl04@aol.com
