Valentines come and go each year
And I long to call you my own dear.
But to afraid to make you mine,
I send a secret valentine.
You don’t know it’s me, and hope it’s not
  I wish and pray that I am caught.
  I know not why yet wish it still.
I hope someday that I actually will.
You want to know who likes you now.
I plan to tell you but don’t know how.
I said I didn’t know who it would be
Although I want to say, “it’s me”.
You shrug it off like it’s no big deal.
Not realizing just how I feel.
You keep my card and just wait longer.
While my feelings for you grow much stronger.
Then one day you take me aside
Ok I must say that I lied
You say your heart has long been mine
No matter who sent this valentine.
