Ashes of lives lost
Buried in rubble
Tears of pain and anger
Stain the face of a nation
Disbelief being
The most prevalent of feelings
Mothers, fathers, friends and neighbors
All taken from each other
For no reason
Once again confirming
That death knows no season

MORNING PERSON
I woke early one morning,
The earth lay cool and still,
When suddenly a tiny bird,
Perched on my window sill,

He sang a song so lovely,
So carefree and so gay,
That slowly all my troubles,
Began to slip away,

He sang of far off places,
Of laughter and of fun,
It seemed his very trilling,
Brought up the morning sun.

I pulled off the covers
Got out of bed
He began sing again
I slammed the window on his head

I'm not a morning person!

A WISH

I take part in the stars tonight,
Always I gaze looking for that falling star,
And with the breeze blown slight,
I sense a reaction inside of me from not so far,
I watch a graceful star fall from the sky,
For me to place my wish on its beautiful wings,
I felt bittersweet in my heart because I was blue-
But yet I knew happiness would come with the wish a made too.

DREAMS
As I hug my pillow
and the moon starts to shine
I begin to dream
that someday you'll be mine
when the sun begins to rise
And I slowly move out of my bed
I try to get over
but the thought of your love stays in my head
Could it be destiny
could it be meant to be
because you're the one guy in the world
I can see growing old with me

TED
A boy in the bed
With his arms round his Ted
Hugging it as if it is real
A boy by his bed clasping his hand
As he starts to pray and kneels.
A boy in his bed
screaming off his head
but he's ok
When Mum gives him Ted
His nightmares are over
and the dreams begin.
A boy at a picnic
with his friends
they ask him to play
but he says "it depends"
He won't go and play
If Ted has to stay.
A boy in a field
Playing with his friends
They agreed to his depends
A boy and his Ted playing in a field
Ted may be cotton
But to the boy he is real.
