When I'm alone in my room,
I lay on my bed and think of you

You were everything I'd hoped for
So I want to know why I am so torn

I just can't seem to figure out what to make of my heart
and why it won't let me make a fresh start

That look in your eye that draws me in
The warmth of your hand touching my skin

When you hold me I feel so safe
when our lips met, how my heart raced

Maybe my heart isn't ready for you yet
though I knew we would be best friends from the time we met

So from now until then when my heart isn't so scared
I will look forward to the times we will share
