I am engaged to a wonderful guy named Matthew. We have a complicated story. We have made it through many tough situations and we have fought to be together since day one. When we first started dating we were together everyday/everynight. We spent every moment we weren't together on the phone with one another. It took no time whatsoever for us to fall in love. Because of me, he got into some trouble. My father is a Criminal Investigator and has some pull in our town. Matt was told to leave town and not come back for a year. So he went into the Army. I haven't seen him in 2 months. But, while he was away we talked on the phone everyday and kept writing letters. After my father had threatened him and done everything in his power to keep us apart. We kept in touch and stayed together. I didn't get to see him before he left for the Army. But, the night before he was swore in, I called him. I stayed on the phone with him for 7 hours. We talked about everything. What we wanted from life, what we would make of ourselves, and what we wanted from our relationship. The things that he said to me were unbelievable! He told me what I meant to him and every thought he has ever had of me. He made it clear that he cared about me. I told him everything that had been on my mind about us, like my fear that he would find someone else. When I said that, immediately he stopped me and told me there was no one else for him and he would be with me for the rest of his life. Becuase of that conversation, we are getting married. We realized how much we need eachother and that we honestly do love eachother. I told him I would wait on him however long he needed me to. I'd be here for him regardless. He has been in the Army for about 4 weeks now. He writes everyday and he calls me everytime he is allowed a phone call. We have a stronger relationship now than when he was in town. Distance does make the heart grow fonder. You realize what you have and what you'll do to keep it. I would do anything for him. I love him with all my heart and I always will. If I had gave up when we first experienced conflict from everyone, I would be missing the best thing that ever happened to me. And I wouldn't be preparing to start a great new life. Fresh beginning. With the one person I do love. I wouldn't of ever known love if I had gave him up. Because I fought and because he fought, we are together & have one of the strongest relationships you'll ever see. I want nothing more out of life than to marry him, start a family, and see him happy.
The point of me telling you this is that *You should never give up if you are fighting for something you love or you believe in. You don't know what you could be missing. Love is something you'll never regret. Unless you never felt it. If you love someone, let them know!!! Don't ever hide it. It'll be the worst thin gyou've ever done. As time goes by, the memory of it will bite you in the ass. Don't ever give up a chance to fall in love. That's giving up a chance to be happy. Everyone should live a happy life or at least die trying.
