An October Day

Sitting here on this October day,
Watching the leaves fade way.
Without a cloud in the sky,
Having to say my last goodbye.

As I remember our song that use to play,
The sky has now turned to gray.
Wishing for this day not to be true,
And when I open my eyes I can tell you wished too.

Knowing that things can’t be the same,
Hoping that this day would have never came.
We know that some words are best unsaid,
And we are now realizing what’s coming ahead.

Is this what use to be a day that was so great,
Or is someone trying to tell us something through fate?
It’s the piece of the puzzle we are trying to figure out.
For that piece seems to have all the doubt.

Understanding what lies in the pass will stay,
But having the courage to be okay.
Even though I will not hold back my tears,
It’s really the only way to get rid of my fears.

And when I looked up into those eyes,
I knew that you wanted to cry.
Maybe it’s too hard to express your feelings.
But it’s really the only way for healing.

For this door that is trying to close,
Is for some reason that heaven only knows.
We know that something so strong can’t keep us apart,
Because even the smallest crack could lead to our heart.

What we use to dream for never end up like this,
And when you were sitting by my side is what I will truly miss.
It’s time to move on because you are too far away,
And for you to be living here again is what I pray.
