i wrote this in memory of my best friend whom i lost to cancer february 16,2000...he led me through life and asked for nothing in return, though many people shunned him for his past, he failed to let that get him down and continued to be a great guy, i hope that he is happy now and will forever watch over me and all that love him...may you use this poem in any way you would like to dedicate it to someone who has made a difference in your life
to those who sail on seperate seas

to those who sail on seperate seas
with every hearts desire
open their sails and catch the breeze
their eyes like raging fire
their ships are strong and sturdy
and the sea below is calm
they guide the ship with graceful ease
with no token in the palm
they live alone for months on end
with no touch to comfort them
and remain content with their ways
and arent frightened by chagrin
they care only for the swimming fish
that live within their sea
they care for and comfort them
and allow their life be free
and when the mast begins to part
they care not for their life
but for the fish within their sea
hope for them to pay no strife
they hope with painful tears and hurt
that they could forever stay
to protect the fish and save from harm
and always pave their way
they fight up to the bitter end
against the strangling water
fight for their life to continue on
to protect their friends much farther
and when the sea takes them home
of it they become a part
they vow to stay with their fish
and live always in their heart
and when the sailor is good and gone
safe beneath the shore
the fish swim more gracefully
the sailor with them forevermore
and when the fish form in schools
and share their loyal thoughts
they praise their sailor with great faith
and spread their memories in special spots
when they die and move on
they meet their sailor once more
where they together watch the sea
and protect their friends beneath the shore.
